Today is the French National Day, and we're also exactly two weeks away from the first day of Qualifications at the Paris 2024 Olympics that will start on Sunday, July 28th 2024!
As a reminder, the top 24 gymnasts in the all-around will qualify in the all-around final and the top 8 gymnasts on each apparatus will qualify to apparatus finals.
So who is most likely to make finals and medal? Let's look at the most recent & best scores.
Thank you to The Gymternet for the most reliable source of scores from all previous competitions.
Unrealistic domestic scores have not been taken into consideration. As much as I love Rebeca Andrade, a 8.9 execution on bars is unlikely to be seen at the Olympic Games, same for MDJDS's 8.750 Execution on Floor or Manila Esposito's 8.950 on Balance Beam.
Top 12 Olympian Gymnasts by Vault Average
* Scores not from FIG competitions = not as reliable.
Simone Biles clearly appears to be untouchable in the vault final. With her 6.4 D Yurchenko Double pike on vault, she starts the competition which a huge advantage. She is guaranteed to take the title if she lands both of her vaults successfully.
Korean gymnast, Yeo Seojeong is strong on vault as she previously took the Bronze Medal on Vault at 2023 World Championships but hasn't competed her vaults since in October. Rebeca Andrade & Jade Carey appear to be the next favorites to medal alongside Simone Biles;
Top 12 Olympian Gymnasts on Uneven Bars
* Scores not from FIG competitions = not as reliable.

Kaylia Nemour and Qiu Qiyuan are without a doubt the two front-runners to get the Gold at the Olympic Games. Kaylia Nemour has recently upgraded her bars routine and holds an advantage, Qiu Qiyuan has also been scoring super high internationally. The spot for bronze should be pretty open, as anything could happen on uneven bars. Alice D'Amato the current European Champion on uneven bars is a clear favorite, Suni Lee is also expected to compete her upgraded routine to contend for a medal.
Top 10 Olympian Gymnasts on Balance Beam
* Scores not from FIG competitions = not as reliable.
Qiu Qiyuan & Zhou Yaqin appear without a doubt like the top two medal contenders on beam, if they hit they should be guaranteed a medal because their difficulty is above anyone other gymnast.. But again, on balance beam anything can happen and a fall could easily happen. Qualifications will be essentials to reach the Beam final.
Top 10 Olympian Gymnasts on Floor
* Scores not from FIG competitions = not as reliable.
Simone Biles clearly appears to be untouchable in the floor final. With +7 difficulty on floor no one can come close to her, she should be guaranteed the gold medal if she doesn't fall. Jade Carey appear to be one of the top contender on floor, she is also the reigning Olympic Champion on Floor. Rebeca Andrade is the current world silver medalist on floor, she hasn't competed since October as she is pacing herself very well.
American gymnasts clearly dominate most of these best scores, Chinese gymnasts are expected to do especially well on uneven bars and Beam while Italian gymnasts could very much medal on floor and bars. Brazilian could also easily, Rebeca Andrade is expected to do well on
FIG Scoring
While U.S.scoring is not too unrealistic, it's also important to keep in mind that most of the American Gymnasts haven't been judged in an international FIG competition. Suni Lee, Jade Carey & Hezly weren't part of last year's World Championships so we should still be cautious of their scores.
